the one with the camera(s)
HI, I'M EMMA
a UK wedding photographer based in Bedfordshire, with a love for storytelling and documentary photograry through both analogue and digital lenses.
I genuinely believe that the camera is one of the most incredible means of story telling - the ability of the photographer, through the camera, to document events and reveal the emotion, the narrative, and the community is unparalleled. I find so much joy in quietly observing, finding the magic in light, emotion, and the fleeting moments that reveal the heart of a day.
I’m especially drawn to the slower, more intentional process of working with my Hasselblad medium-format camera. Film allows me to breathe, to listen, and to create images rooted in nature, luminosity, and the kind of delicate details that are often felt before they’re seen.
Beyond photography, I’m a toddler mum, a musician, a wife, and working part-time with an anti–sex trafficking charity. I’m happiest wandering through a forest in sunshine or rain, and I have a soft spot for giving old clothes new life (Vinted is my guilty pleasure) and sewing new ones from scratch.
Photography, for me, is the art of translating feeling into something tangible — images that are beautiful, poetic, light-filled, and honest. My approach is rooted in storytelling: letting your connection, your personalities, and the quiet in-between moments fill the frame.
If you’re dreaming of wedding photographs that feel evocative, intentional, and authentically you — I’d be honoured to document your story.
Inspiration
"when I get married, I want to wake up on a sunny day, put on my favourite dress and just walk to the church..."
In the (sort-of) words of Elizabeth Gaskell's North & South - well the TV adaptation at least - this is the main characters description of her ideal wedding day.
A character who refused to bow down to the pressures of the day, waiting and believing she could marry for love, not convenience, and celebrate her day as she wanted - simple, intimate, real. Rather than full of traditions and trends she didn't value.
Did Margaret's words alone inspire me to become a wedding photographer? Well, no. But since I watched this show as a 17 year old, these words resonated and have stuck with me ever since. Not because every wedding should look as she described hers would, but because this character, chose to stay true to herself and her values throughout her life. No matter what pressures came up against her.
And that, inspires me to no end.
